What makes Scotland Unique?
Scotland offers some of the best and most varied salmon fishing in the world. Form small West Coast "Spate rivers to the Classic and famous rivers in the East. Rivers such as the Spey, Dee, Tay, and Tweed, not only have a great history of salmon fishing, but those are the river where modern salmon fishing began.
Having traveled all over the world in search of Salmon, I can put my hand on my heart and say, when it comes to fishing for and catching salmon, there's nowhere quite like Scotland. I say this not only as a passionate Scot, someone who has worked in salmon fishing all his life, but as someone with a genuine interest in providing all my clients with the best and most honest information I possibly can.

River Spey
River Spey
Of all the rivers I've fished and know, The River Spey is the river I measure all others against, the one that has everything. Every aspect of the river is perfect. It is, without any doubt, the jewel in the crown of Scottish Salmon Fishing, and, I'd argue, beyond Scotland too.
The Spey is situated in the northeast of Scotland easy to access from the two airports, Aberdeen and Inverness, both of which can be accessed easily from all major European cities.
Most fishing good beats are private, provide double bank fishing and have a full-time ghillie. The best salmon fishing is to be found between the town of Grantown to the sea at Spay Bay, a distance of around 50 miles, encompassing some of the best salmon fishing beats and pools in the world.

I've also shown the size of rod and what tackle one should think about bringing to each particular beat at any given time of the year. Those are guidelines only, but based on my 40 years of working knowledge of this river.
